The Coastline between Mattinata and Vieste is uniquely spectacular with the impressive Sea Caves That can be seen via organized boat excursions and imposing rocky stacks (Faraglioni) rising majestically out of the clear blue sea. Vieste, the capital of Gargano’s tourism, is a very important town where it is possible to see the Cathedral and the Castle of Federico II of Svevia, the characteristic historic centre which shows an ancient architecture that will take you back in time on a seaside funny holiday. The town of Monte Sant’Angelo, 800 metres above sea level, enjoy a stunning panorama on the Gulf of Manfredonia and dominates the southern olives plains on the Gargano promontory. There it is possible to visit the Grotta di San Michele, a very frequented centre of Christianity and the suggestive medieval Junno district, with its roes of white houses characterised by big chimney stacks.
